First batch of scholars under Hengyi Industries – PB Joint Collaboration Programme given the opportunity to study abroad at Lanzhou Petrochemical University.

Brunei International Airport, 5 September 2023 – 29 Chemical Engineering students under the Hengyi Industries Sdn. Bhd. (Hengyi Industries) and Politeknik Brunei (PB) Joint Collaboration Programme are continuing their studies abroad for one semester at Lanzhou Petrochemical University of Vocational Technology (Lanzhou) in the People’s Republic of China.

A signing session of the Sponsorship Agreement was held on 23 August 2023. As part of Hengyi’s Future-Ready initiative, this programme aims to foster local talent by providing them with the necessary skills and training to ensure work readiness in Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd. Muhammad Nur Khairurrabi'ee bin Hj Japarudin, one of PB scholarship’s recipient, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “We are excited because we get to study and train there. This opportunity will broaden our horizons for our future career with Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd. We are forever grateful for this opportunity.”

Another scholar, Nabilah Hadirah binti Nazaruddin, expressed how she is thankful for the chance to study abroad. “Embarking on this journey to study abroad in Lanzhou fills us with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and gratitude. We're eager to embrace new experiences, cultures, and knowledge. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd for granting us the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Lanzhou. The Hengyi Industries and PB Joint Collaboration Programme offers the students a three (3) year Diploma in Chemical Engineering, whereby they have completed two (2) years of academic study at PB and one (1) semester of industrial training with Hengyi Industries. Upon completion and graduation of the programme, the students will be expected to join Hengyi Industries and begin their career in the petrochemical industry.
