The construction of the hydraulic structure of the two petrochemical jetties on both Western & Eastern side of PMB, as well as the auxiliary housing works are reaching the end of the construction and are expected to be completed by the end of the 1st quarter of 2019.

Co-generation Power Plant

The co-generation power plant at Pulau Muara Besar will be the main power source provider for the whole refinery and petrochemical plant.

To date, the construction of the main Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) substation and other associated facilities has been completed. The priority now is the installations of the boilers which is targeted to be fully operational by March 2019. By this time, the first generator will produce electricity for equipment commissioning.

Seawater Desalination Facility

The construction of the seawater desalination facility has been completed by the end of January. Desalted water is currently being produced which will be used by the power plant.

Refinery & Petrochemical Complex

The focus for the Refinery & Petrochemical Complex is the concurrent installation of the steel structure works and the installation of equipment.

Eastern Channel Dredging

Dredging of the Eastern Channel involves deepening of the Eastern Channel to allow up to 50,000 DWT vessels to PMB and a concurrent backfilling of dredged materials to elevate the areas under Hengyi’s Phase 2 land development plan.

66kV transmission link project which entails cable laying from Muara substation through the PMB bridge connecting to Hengyi’s substation at PMB is in progress. This will provide power for construction, testing and commissioning and eventually serve as an emergency back-up power for the for the refinery plant.
