Hengyi Industries Embraces the Spirit of Ramadhan with Presentation of Donations to Orphans, Underprivileged Families, DANA and Mosque

The Walk Beribi, 29 March 2024 – Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd (Hengyi Industries) held a series of donations in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan which featured the Donation Drive to orphans and underprivileged families, the Presentation of Donation to Dana Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah (DANA), and the presentation of waqaf to Kampung Perpindahan Serasa Mosque.

Present as the Guest of Honour for the event was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah, Minister at The Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II.

Also present was His Excellency Dr. Xiao Jianguo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam; Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin Bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy; Yang Mulia Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi Bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office; Dr. Dayang Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Acting
Managing Director of Yayasan; Shahminan Bin Haji Abd Rahman, Head Village of Kampung Kapok; and Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Zainin, Deputy Head Village of Kampung Perpindahan Serasa.

The event began with the presentation of donations from Hengyi Industries’ Annual Donation Drive. The Guest of Honour handed over cash and food items totalling BND $7,800 to 13 underprivileged families and 13 orphans from Kampung Serasa and Kampung Muara. The donation drive aims to lighten the burden of these families and orphans as they prepare for the occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The event then continued with the presentation of donations totalling BND $5,000 contributed by the staff and the company to DANA as part of Hengyi Industries’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) under the Hengyi Cares Initiative. This contribution aims to support the government’s effort to provide care and well-being for orphans in Brunei Darussalam. The donation was presented by Mr Chen Lian Cai, CEO of Hengyi Industries to The Acting Managing Director of Yayasan.

The CEO of Hengyi Industries then presented 3 units of solar lamps as waqaf to The Kampung Perpindahan Serasa Mosque. The items are part of Hengyi Industries’ initiative to give back to the community and provide convenience for the mosque’s congregation.

The event culminated with the breaking of fast where the families and orphans were treated to iftar meals together with Hengyi Industries and invited guests.
