Hengyi Industries Holds Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony and Annual Ramadhan Donation Drive

11 March 2026, J Hotel, Kiulap – Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd (Hengyi Industries) organised its annual Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and Ramadhan donation presentation, bringing together staff and members of the community in a meaningful gathering to observe the holy month of Ramadhan while extending support to families in need.

A total of 62 Hengyi Industries staff participated in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. The event began with a mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of the holy verses of the Al Quran. The Khatam was led by Mohd Hardie bin Haji Minudin, Chief Fire Assistant at Hengyi Industries; followed by the Takhtim led by Mohammed Kamarul Zaman bin Awg Abas, Firefighter at Hengyi Industries; while the Dikir was led by Mohd Izuan bin Marali, Firefighter at Hengyi Industries.

Following the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony, Hengyi Industries held the presentation of Ramadhan donations. Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II.

Also present were Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Haji Awang Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy); Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office; and His Excellency Chen Shaochun, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam.

During the event, Hengyi Industries presented Ramadhan donations totalling BND $8,100 to 12 underprivileged families and 9 orphans from Kampong Perpindahan Serasa. The event then concluded with the breaking of fast together with the recipients and the invited guests. The Ramadhan donation programme is part of “Hengyi Cares” corporate social responsibility initiative, with the contributions aimed at helping ease their financial burdens, and to hopefully brighten up their upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations even more.
