Hengyi Industries Shares Insights on Meeting the Maqasid Al-Shariah in the O&G Sector during the Brunei MYCE 2022 Energy Symposium

Musyawarah Hall, ICC, 16 June 2022 – Hengyi Industries Sdn Bhd (Hengyi Industries) participated as one of the speakers for the Energy Symposium during the Brunei Mid-Year Conference Exhibition 2022 Energy Theme.

Week. With the theme “Gearing Up Local Talents in the Oil and Gas Sector”, the symposium featured four (4) speakers comprising of representatives from key companies and departments in the Energy Sector. Also present as the moderator for the symposium session is Yang Mulia Awang Hazman bin Hj Junit, Deputy Director of the Energy Manpower Division, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister's office.

Speaking as the representative of Hengyi Industries is Yang Mulia Pengiran Siti Rosanidah binti Pengiran Haji Idris, Legal Counsel of Hengyi Industries. She highlighted on the role Hengyi Industries plays in meeting the Maqasid Al-Shariah, notably in the preservation and promotion of intellect through the company’s commitment towards the growth and development of skilled local youths.

Pengiran Rosanidah also touched on the other key aspects of the Maqasid Al-Shariah and how it aligns with the company’s aspiration, namely the preservation and promotion of faith by providing dedicated facilities for the Muslim staff; preservation and promotion of life through the provision of dedicated firefighting and medical services as well as through environmental initiatives like the Reforestation Project; preservation and promotion of progeny by providing employment benefits such as insurance coverage and allowances for the staff; and preservation and promotion of wealth through the company’s commitment to provide employment and business opportunities in Brunei Darussalam.

The initiatives and opportunities offered by Hengyi Industries to help gear up the local youths for employment were also highlighted during the symposium, such as the scholarship & collaboration programmes, the training programmes and direct employment opportunities.

“Hengyi Industries has established three joint scholarship and collaboration programmes with the local and overseas institutions, and the students are placed under Hengyi Industries’ employment once they have successfully completed their courses,” she said.

The Brunei MYCE 2022 event is supported by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Among the partners that also supported the event are D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd as the event organizer; Datastream Digital Sdn Bhd (DST) as the official Telco partner; and several official media partners namely Radio Television Brunei (RTB), Information Department (Pelita Brunei) and Brunei Press Sdn Bhd.
